Woman Charged With Arson After Two Fires at San Angelo Apartments

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo authorities arrested a 47-year-old Dallas woman Tuesday after she allegedly set two separate fires at the same apartment unit within a 48-hour period.

Artrinshaquela King faces charges of arson and resisting arrest after the incidents at the Dominguez Apartments. Her bond was set at $80,000. The first fire broke out around 9:50 a.m. Monday at a residence in the 23 E. Ave. K complex.

Firefighters arrived to find that a neighbor had already put out the flames, which had been set at the front door. Twenty-one firefighters and 11 units responded. No one was injured, but the door sustained damage.

Crews were called back to the same unit at approximately 11:36 a.m. Tuesday for a second fire. Officials said this blaze started inside the residence through a broken window. Once again, a neighbor extinguished the flames before firefighters arrived. Twenty-one firefighters and nine units responded to the scene. The structure suffered additional damage to the window area and interior belongings, but no injuries were reported.

The San Angelo Police Department made the arrest following the second incident. The Fire Marshal’s Office said the investigation is continuing.
