ELDORADO, TX — The No. 16 Christoval Lady Cougars earned another dominant victory over Eldorado to kick off the second half of district play, 20-2. The Lady Cougars overcame windy conditions to take a big lead early and never looked back.
"They performed extremely well today," Christoval head coach Mikayla Mize said after the win. "I was really proud of the way we were hitting—the wind was definitely a factor today, so I told them to make sure we were taking good swings, seeing the middle of the ball, and they did. I am super proud of them for that."
The Lady Cougars (15-4-1) started out hot with 14 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Errors aided Christoval, but hits from Rylie Hunt (single), Sophia Ramirez (triple) and Aubrey Young (home run) gave the Lady Cougars a 14-0 lead before the second inning.
In the top of the 2nd, Christoval added six more runs to bring their total to 20. Ramirez hit another RBI before Dani Braswell singled, scoring two more. Slayden doubled again, scoring one, before Malaya Quinn singled, scoring two more.
Eldorado (1-8) tried its best to fight back, but it was never quite enough. The Lady Eagles scored two runs in the contest thanks to some walks and passed balls, but overall, the Lady Cougars' defense seemed impenetrable.
Christoval's Brylynn White threw an absolute gem on in the cirlce on Tuesday afternoon. White pitched a no-hitter before the game was called after three innings. She allowed no hits, walked four, struck out six, and allowed two runs (zero earned) in the win.
"She's an amazing kid," Coach Mize said of her starting pitcher. "She's an amazing athlete and a hard worker. Every time we talk about adjusting her pitches, she immediately adjusts. She's working hard and I'm loving every second of it."

The Lady Cougars are off to an incredible start in 2026. Undefeated in district, Christoval hasn't found a ceiling yet. Coach Mize agreed.
"Right now, I'm hoping we don't have a ceiling," Mize said. "I'm hoping that we keep playing the way we are supposed to be playing, and hopefully, nothing stops us from getting to that tournament."
Next up, the No. 16 Lady Cougars host the Miles Lady Bulldogs on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
