SAN ANGELO, TX — A former Angelo State linebacker has entered the Canadian Football League Draft.
Eric Rascoe, who played at ASU from 2020 to 2024, compiled 225 total tackles with 20 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 18 passes defended, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery during his time with the Rams.
After redshirting in 2019 and the shortened season due to COVID in 2020, Rascoe started 11 games in 2021. Over the next two seasons, he started every game and was named to the Lone Star Conference's First-Team Defense at linebacker three times. Rascoe was also named the LSC's Linebacker of the Year.
In 2024, Rascoe started 11 games and finished the season with 6.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 interceptions, 9 passes defended and 1 fumble recovery.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Rascoe played in the Indoor Football League for the San Antonio Gunslingers in 2025 and had 39 tackles, 2 passes defended, and 1 sack.
Rascoe played high school football at Warren High School in San Antonio. Due to his mother being born in Toronto, Rascoe qualifies for the CFL Draft.
There are nine teams in the CFL, and the first round draft order is as follows:
