WALL, TX — The Wall Lady Hawks moved up two spots to No. 11 in this week’s Class 3A state softball rankings
Wall is off to a 15-3 start to the season, though the Lady Hawks are coming off a 13-10 loss to Jim Ned to open district play Friday.
Jim Ned (13-4) broke into the rankings at No. 25.
Wall will try to get back on track at 5 p.m. Tuesday at San Angelo TLCA (9-6), which has been a competitive team this spring, led by standout pitcher Grace Roeder.
TLCA lost 6-0 to No. 1-ranked Clyde on Friday. Only three teams have played Clyde closer through the first 15 games of the season. TLCA also owns a win over state-ranked Reagan County.
Wall won’t face off with Clyde until April 2 at Clyde, followed by a home against the Lady Bulldogs on April 7.
Wall’s loaded district also includes No. 3 Merkel, which the Lady Hawks will see at home March 27 and on the road March 31.
Wall will host Jim Ned in a rematch April 17 to end the regular season.
The only other area team represented in the state rankings is Reagan County, which is No. 21 in the 1A/2A poll. The Lady Owls have a record of 9-5, capped by a 15-0 win over McCamey last week.
Reagan County will play again at McCamey on Tuesday, March 17.
