WALL, TX — Not surprisingly, the state-champion Wall Lady Hawks brought home all of the top awards from the All-District 6-3A Girls Basketball Team.
Sophomore guard Jewels Johnson was named the district MVP after averaging 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.4 assists per game.
Johnson, who was also named the MVP of the Class 3A Division II state final, led Wall during its playoff run, including a 23-point game in the state semifinals against Paradise.
Senior guard Kennedi Graves was named the district’s Offensive MVP. She knocked down 40% of her 3-pointers and averaged 12 points per game.
Senior guard Kathrine Lewis was the Defensive MVP after leading Wall with 2.7 steals per game, along with averaging 6 points and 4 assists.
Junior guard/forward Kenzzie Covert was named the Sixth Man of the Year as a sparkplug off the bench who averaged 7 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals per game.
Wall head coach Silas Crisler and his assistants, Rese Schoonover and Bridgett Gonzales, were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
First-team selections for Wall included senior Emery Harper, junior McKenzie Lopez and sophomore Maci Wagoner. The second-team picks were freshman Brynlee Graves and junior Kylee Holik.
