Former Cisco Firefighter Passes Away

 

CISCO, TX — The Cisco Fire Department has announced that a former firefighter has died.

Christine Woolverton, who was with the Cisco Fire Department from 2010 to 2017, served as a reserve and volunteer firefighter and secretary for the volunteer fire department.

In 2011, Woolverton was named the department's Firefighter of the Year.

She died Sunday, March 22, at Trinity Healthcare in Logan, West Virginia. She was 54.

In a Facebook post, Chief Walter Fairbanks said:

"It’s with great sadness that I must report the loss of one of our former firefighters Christine Woolverton ... 

Christine was well liked by all the public and firefighters she worked with. She was also a member of the State Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association of Texas. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024.

Never forget!"
