SAN ANGELO, TX — Another day, another offer from a major college football program for Central Bobcats offensive lineman Ethan Boyd.
The highly regarded prospect announced his seventh NCAA Division I offer Thursday, this one from the U.S. Naval Academy.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Boyd has also received offers from North Texas, Oklahoma State, UTEP, Georgia State, Florida Atlantic and UTSA.
He also attended Texas State’s Spring Game last week, and was then visited at Central’s field house Wednesday by Louisiana Tech’s Director of Scouting.
It’s been a whirlwind recruiting process for Boyd since the end of his junior season last fall when he helped the Bobcats go 8-4 and win their first playoff game since 2020.
Boyd, who was named a first-team All-District 2-6A selection, has started 22 straight games for Central since the start of his sophomore year.
Navy went 11-2 last year and defeated Cincinnati in the Liberty Bowl.
This is the second time Navy has taken serious interest recently in a Tom Green County athlete after signing Wall offensive lineman Baine Jenschke to play rugby.
The Central Bobcats walk onto the field before their game against Frenship on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. Ethan Boyd (75) leads the way.
