SAN ANGELO, TX — Seven high school girls from our area were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Team.
Only 25 players in each classification earned the honor.
Wall’s Kennedi Graves and Jewels Johnson, who led the Lady Hawks to the state title, were named to the Class 3A team, along with Coahoma’s Addi Schmidt.
Wall and Coahoma were ranked No. 1 and 2 in the state, respectively, much of the season. They eventually collided in the regional final, where Wall won 56-42.
Mason’s Anna Marie Whitworth and Flora Appleton were named to the Class 2A team after helping the Cowgirls reach their first-ever state final.
Goldthwaite’s Rylee Greenway was also selected to the 2A team after being a driving force for the Lady Eagles’ run to the state semifinals.
Garden City’s Karly Baker was named to the 1A team. She led Garden City to a No. 13 state ranking and a trip to the regional semifinals.
