SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo has appointed Jonathan Flores as its next finance director and Shani Jordan as assistant finance director, the city announced this Friday morning.
Flores has served the city since 2017 in roles including accounting manager and budget manager, and most recently as the interim finance director.
As finance director, he will lead all four divisions of the department: Accounting, Budget, Billing and Receipts, and Purchasing. His top priorities will include overseeing the organization’s $200 million budget, maintaining fiscal transparency through the annual audit, and ensuring that city assets are used to advance community priorities.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving San Angelo and its residents,” Flores said. “I am ready to elevate my service, strengthen our financial planning efforts and ensure responsible stewardship of public resources in support of our community’s priorities.”
Assistant Finance Director Shani Jordan has been with the city since 2020, serving as the billing and systems manager for most of that time.
As assistant director, she will direct key functions of the department such as the budget, accounting, and financial reporting to help ensure organizational transparency, efficiency and financial sustainability.
“I believe strong financial stewardship is essential to building trust with the community,” Jordan said. “I'm committed to maintaining transparency, improving processes, and supporting decisions that position our city for long-term success.”
