Abilene Police Investigating After Second Homicide in 2 Weeks

ABILENE, TX — The Abilene Police Department is investigating after a fatal shooting last week marked the city’s second homicide of the year.

The shooting occurred Thursday, March 5, at the Days Inn by Wyndham at 3950 Ridgemont Drive in south Abilene.

Police responded to the scene after reports of gunfire and found Billy Charles Allen, 29, deceased in the parking lot.

According to media reports, family members have stated a jealous boyfriend could have been involved after Allen met a woman at the motel, but police haven't released any additional information.

The homicide follows two shootings on Feb. 18-19 in Abilene, one of which resulted in the death of 44-year-old Jesus Hernandez.

Dameon D’Shaun Michael Bradford, 18, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 26, in connection with Hernandez’s death.
