Ivey Motors to Shutter Doors Amid Ford Upgrade Demands

ROBERT LEE, TX — Ivey Motors, a Ford dealership in Robert Lee, announced it will close its doors later this year due to financial uncertainties tied to required facility upgrades from Ford Motor Company.

The dealership cited a multimillion-dollar investment mandated by Ford, with the added risk of reevaluation in five years, as making continued operations unfeasible for a rural business like theirs. Closure is planned for May 29, though the date could shift based on the transition process.

In the interim, Ivey Motors is offering "major discounts" on all in-stock vehicles and encourages potential buyers to view inventory at iveymotors.net.

The family-owned dealership, which has served Robert Lee and the surrounding areas for many years, has earned multiple Ford President's Awards, one of the highest honors a dealership can receive.

The announcement has prompted a community response, with the City of Robert Lee providing postcards at City Hall for residents to write to Ford's main office about the closure's potential negative impact on local employment and the economy. City officials noted the business's longstanding role in the community and expressed hope that public input could influence the decision.

Ivey Motors expressed gratitude to customers and the community for years of support.

"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for trusting us with your business over the years," the dealership stated. "Serving this community has been a privilege, and we will always be grateful for the relationships and friendships we've built along the way."
